Deputy Chairman CHU Xiangyin Present at the Round-table Conference of “St. Petersburg – Beijing Exhibition Cities”

To further enhance the economic and cultural communications between Beijing and St. Petersburg and promote the extensive cooperation between exhibition industries in two cities, the round-table conference of the “St. Petersburg-Beijing Exhibition Cities” was staged in Russian Culture Center in Beijing on the morning of February 11, where both sides discussed such topics as the importance of large-scale exhibitions and conference projects on regional development, relationship between exhibition circle and international organizations & communities, the support to exhibitions and large-scale meetings from the state. Deputy Chairman CHU Xiangyin of the CCPIT Beijing was present at the conference and introduced the exhibition situations in Beijing. Representatives from over 30 exhibition enterprises and related media also attend the conference.

Russian delegates actively introduced the exhibition environment in St. Petersburg, which, as the second largest exhibition center, boasted for apparent advantages to develop exhibition industry. This round-table “St. Petersburg and Beijing – Exhibition Cities” aimed to upgrade the image of St. Petersburg and establish cooperative relationship with Beijing’s exhibition industry.


Deputy CHU stated at the conference that governments at all levels put more and more attention to the exhibition industry along with the development of Chinese economy; the Beijing Municipal Government would also launch a series of financial support policies to advance the exhibition industry. He also hoped both cities would enhance cooperation via this round-table conference to participate in more mutual exhibition activities.
