                        October 28, 2013
By Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Office of ICCIE and
Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing Sub-Council

Friends from the media, ladies and gentlemen: Good morning!

The 8th China (Beijing) International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE), which is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, is to be held from November 6th to 10th in Beijing. Now, entrusted by the Organizing Committee, I will give a brief introduction to friends and guests from the media present here about the main activities and preparations for the 8th ICCIE.

Since its establishment in 2006, the ICCIE has always served the nation's development strategy of the cultural industry, given full play to the unique advantages of the capital city as a cultural center, and promoted the high-end integration of the national and even global cultural resources, playing an important leading and driving role in the process of China’s cultural and creative industries advancing from the start to the cultivation to today’s phase of rapid development. The 8 years of ICCIE history has expanded its influence, made its brand effect more and more obvious, and become the iconic platform of international exchange and cooperation for China’s cultural and creative industries. The previous 7 sessions of the ICCIE attracted more than 300 governmental and industrial delegations from dozens of countries and international organizations to come and conduct cultural exchanges and discuss cooperation. Thousands of domestic and foreign cultural and creative enterprises displayed and launched their most outstanding cultural products with local characteristics. More than 1,000 influential and renowned domestic and foreign experts and scholars from cultural and creative industries and senior government officials delivered speeches at the ICCIE. According to incomplete statistics, the previous 7 sessions of ICCIE witnessed the signing of contracts amounting to 365.4 billion yuan.
